About Leslie Bobrowsky

Leslie Bobrowsky, President of Specialty Training Services, Inc., is a talent development consultant.  She provides professional skills training, coaching, and consulting for written and oral communications and for consultative selling.

Because of her own experiences learning to speak and write successfully—and without stress—Leslie has special empathy for clients who are nervous or harbor anxiety about communicating in public.  Her kind, encouraging, and supportive style quickly produces client confidence and competence.  She creates comfortable, safe environments for participants in groups and in private coaching.

Recent skill development projects include

  • Conducting training for new business presentations for financial services professionals
  • Providing sales presentation training for a global food products company’s North American sales force
  • Professional development training (persuasive communicating, conducting meetings, business writing) for financial sales and marketing personnel
  • Delivering consultative sales training for bio-tech scientists who interact with clients
  • Presentation training for university administrators
  • Training sales reps at a scientific products distribution company
  • Speaking and writing skills for technology professionals to serve internal financial professionals more effectively

Recent speaking engagements include Speak-Up!–Using Conversation to Advantage, Powerful Presentations, Why Presentations Don’t Work, Manager Responsibility for Performance Improvement, Developing a Professional Style, and Business Manners
and Etiquette.

Leslie’s passion for language and grammar stems from Mrs. Strickler’s sixth grade English class, and she sometimes admits to being a “word nerd.”  Her writing services include writing and revising client marketing and customer service communications, writing training materials and editing non-fiction book manuscripts.  She also works with individuals undertaking job searches to create results-driven résumés.

Prior to founding her firm, Leslie held two positions at CBS, Inc.: Manager, CBS School of Management; and Manager, Training Programs and Employee Development.  She designed and conducted presentation skills and supervisory training for CBS’s four operating groups.

Leslie’s initial communication skills and management experience dates from her position as Associate Head of Special Programs, Graduate School, U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she managed the professional development curriculum of communication skills programs; sold consulting services to clients; developed and conducted assessment centers; taught supervisory training, problem-solving, decision-making, and presentation skills; and trained trainers.

Leslie holds an AB in mathematics from New York University and an MA in adult education from The George Washington University.  (She majored in math so she wouldn’t have to speak publicly or write term papers; see how that turned out!) She is a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the New York Human Resource Planning Society (NYHRPS).

She lives in New York City.

Leslie is a POWERHOUSE when it comes to training employees on how to persuade an audience. I recommend her Successful Presentations course to anyone who seriously wants to elevate their technique and confidence.
